In early 2008, I was working in the RV industry as the economy was collapsing around me. I quickly found myself searching for ideas as to how I was going to pay bills and support my household.
It’s interesting looking back in hindsight how God provides answers to our prayers in the most unexpected ways.
A good friend of mine suggested that we wash windows to supplement our income. To be honest, I didn’t think it was a good idea but it seemed to be my only option. In business, most new owners have something to invest. I however had no money to invest but I had plenty of work ethic and possessed a no-quit attitude. With those two qualities I hit the streets knocking on doors until somebody said “Yes!”.
Over the next two years, I simplified my canvassing methods and decided I could reach more people if I simply put fliers in doors. I went to as many as one thousand doors per day distributing my low-cost, black-and-white fliers. On more occasions than I can count I left my home at 5:00 a.m. knowing that I did not have enough money or gas to eat or get me home: I was left with only one option, get someone to say “yes.”
As my business grew, I fell in love with what I do. My clients became friends. Some, I would even consider to be like family.
Today, I am very proud to be the owner of Brighter Days Window Cleaning. We are one of the most well-recognized window cleaning companies in southern Arizona. Day in and day out I take what I do as seriously as I did when I was knocking at 1,000 doors a day. I have been blessed to earn the window cleaning contract for the largest house in Tucson and meet most amazing people. They have helped to change me and mold me into who I am today.
Brighter Days is more than just a company: it’s a way of life. Not only for myself but also for the extraordinary people that work with me. As we expand, we are adding other services to our offer: screen repair and housecleaning. It is as though we are just beginning a new chapter in this top-rated company.
